I have a customer with a 2000 civic SI, which has a turbonetics turbo system and we are using a honda s300 for tuning

only problem is in RI/CT emission testing is done via the dlc port to check for check engine lights etc.

now obviously the stock honda computer cannot run the 550cc injectors, so I have switched him back to stock injectors/fuel pump/and computer to pass emissions. So now that he has passed emissions I am putting the walbro pump, RC 550cc's and hondata back in to start tuning it

now the RC 550's use an OBD1 style connector, and the stock 00 SI injectors use an OBD2 connector

my question (sorry it took so long to get to it) is...instead of hacking up this kid's engine harness any more than it is to solder in OBD1 connectors, only to have to take them out again in 2 years...can I pig tail the fuel injector wiring so that the car will have both OBD1 and OBD2 fuel injector clips? so that all I have to do to get him through emissions is change out the injectors/pump and computer?

or will the extra clip in the harness screw up the resistance for the circuit and cause running problems?

well that's painfully simple...thanks for the good info, I had never seen those before

 

i use obd2 clips on my obd1 injectors. just pull the blue thing out and clip some of the plastic off. to switch back, put the blue thing back in.
