Default check engine light code?

hey all,

my check engine light came on yesterday and im particularly concerned because theres only 12K miles on my 04 civic si. i took it to autozone and the guy plugged in that reader and the engine error code was P1122, the guy said he doesnt really know exactly what it is but it has to do with air and fuel sensors...does anyone know what the P1122 error means i need to replace?

thanks for any help in advance

to be more specific of the error:

P1122 Throttle Position Higher Than Expected

i have no idea what this means but i called Honda Parts dept near my house and they told me i need to replace the throttle body which is $850, not including service...the guys said there's a sensor in the throttle body that no1 sells seperately

i can't afford to pay this, i just got the car last week, and help would be greatly appreciated...

take it into the dealer and have them hook it up to their computer system, they will tell you whats wrong right away. you could have a bad o2 sensor or something, i dont really trust anyone else than a dealer when it comes to that kind of stuff, but thats just me,

Yea the thing is that i called 2 dealers, and both said "p1122 - throttle position higher than expected" deals with the throttle body sensor, according to them, the TPS cannot be replaced and you need to purchase a new throttle body, which from the dealer is 850-950 not including service...

thats straight up robbery,

any members know of any other less drastic ways to fix a TPS for resolve a CEL error of P1122...

thanks

if you do get the new honda throttle body sadly thats what must be paid, but it isnt hard to put in you could do it yourself. your are at 12k? i think you dealer should pull some strings to get you that part, yeah its been 3 years, but the car hasnt seen the road. see what you can do with your dealer, i know we do that for people here.

if you are looking at the throttle body and you see where the cables come to the body, the sensor is right on the other side of that. i think it is black in color. good luck
