I have the DC 4-2-1 one piece ceramic on my gsr. Some low end and midrange gains but nothing extreme. High end feels nice. I've had it for about 2 years so I really don't remember how it was without it.

I wanted to keep the torque and midrange power so I went with the 421 setup. The 41 headers are known for high end power while sacrificing a little on the bottom and mid range. If you are a dragger only, then go the 4-1 setup.

also realize this .... something i just ran into this weekend ...

2 piece or 1 piece header design ....

i personally am for the 1 piece header design...

but this weekend ... I couldnt take my oil pan off without having to first take the whole entire header off of the head and detach it from the hiflow cat .... didnt have a new exhaust manifold gasket .... sooo needless to say ... oil pan didnt come off ...

i think id still get a 1 piece header design .... but a 2piece sure would have been so much easier (:

Basically it comes down to where you want to increase your power. As someone above said, 4-1 will net you more high end power, and 4-2-1 will net you more midrange. If you are up in high revs a lot, you'll want the 4-1, plus it mates better with the high end vtec if you have a vtec engine. However some people are in favor of having the 4-2-1 save their midrange and let vtec take care of the high end. It's a matter of preference. And as far as one and two piece go, aren't the one pieces also slightly lighter and supposed to flow better?

I've had both, and haven't noticed a difference between the two, so go figure...

i say ..

if your gonna just do I/H/E get the 4-2-1

but if your building a real beast .. get the 4-1 less restrictive airflow ... more free flowing

What about the JDM DC Sports 4-1 with 2.5" collector?

this is why I bought comptech --- great low end while being very competitive with the 4-1's in the top

If the funds are available, the Spoon 4-2-1 header is a great design that gives you both midrange and top end power. It is costly though, but the gains are all across the powerband.
