Need input with Paint Molding Project
Hello,
I've done as much research as I can but I am stuck on a few very important steps.
Just a little backround info.
I recently added some H&R Race Springs with Koni Yellows, with the drop I find it a must to paint the moldings to match.

1) How to Remove the Door Moldings with out breaking the clips.
The fender, I can remove the plastic cover and push the clip?
The door molding I remove the screw on the side of the door and attempt to push the clips down?
The body molding? No Clue, I can't pull it back enough to put anything in to push the clips?
2)
Once I remove the moldings I am planning the following steps, please tell me if i miss anything or need to change a step.
a)
Sand paper 400, 600, 1000, 2000 grid to give the plasic a good skuffing for the primer/paint to stick on.
b)
Getting Elastic primer that is flexiable for the plastic molding, like bulldog adhesion promoter
c)
Going to find a place that sells Arcrlique Spray paint and preferably one that can match to my body car on the spot (its white so the code on the car and the actual color is different .its a 1999 and white changes)
d)
Getting a clear coat
e)
After a week of applying I will put on some Guard protection, since my car is dropped and i know i am going to scratch the bottom moldings.

If you have the little hook/pick tool you could use it to remove the molding. The problem is that half of the molding has 2 sided tape on it. The easiest way in my opinion is to remove the door panel, peel back the plastic covering the release the clips from the inside of the door.
I ended up destroying mine when I took it of incorrectly, so whatever you do be careful.

You can get to the one on the rear quarter panel from the inside, you just need to pull the interior panel back. It's easier if you take the seat bottom out as well.
