I have a 98 civic ex. Every time I brake the rear suspension squeals. I've heard it is rare that its the brake pads. Could this be the brake shoes or the pads? Also, when I start to drive and the suspension starts to warm up, the squealing stops.

 

unless you have a disc swap, you have no pads in the rear.
