Default Key question

The key for the 2007 Civic LX is quite large. This is mainly due to the fact that the keyless entry remote is attached to the key itself. I work in a fairly hot/humid/wet work environment. I am wondering if anyone has had their keyless entry remote fail due to H2O contamination of the electronics?

The only time I've seen the newer style keys fail is if they are dropped in water... even then if you pull them out soon enough and allow them to dry they'll usually work just fine. As for being in a humid enviroment it will not cause any problems/damage to the electronics inside the key.

The valet key should work in the ignition and driver's door. It won't open a locked glove box or locked trunk latch.

You can still use the trunk release on the floor as long as it's unlocked.

as far as something small, like a key, should have no problems.

i had my boss radio in my bathroom, eventually the steam killed it. but thats way different.

I appreciate all of your replies. I will just use one of those detachable key rings, car key on one ring and other keys on the second ring. I will then be able to lock my car key in my desk on days that it is raining while I carry around all of my other keys.
