Default Looking To Increase Horsepower 7th Gen

I want to up my hp status a bit, on my 7th Gen Accord coupe V6 '03. I was thinking about superchargers, but didn't hear anything about that. So I thought I should start out small. My question is, obviously, how do I do this. Anybody know some good headers I can buy for this model? Prefferably Greddy.

intake and exhaust are about it. if you got $$ you can adapt the comptech S/C kit from the 6th gen to the 7th gen car

headers are out since the exhaust collectors are cast into the head

The car already has a great exhaust system, so I don't think you can improve much in that area. Other than a supercharger, you are wasting your time and $$$ for not much if anything hp wise.

so..no exhaust options, no header opt, and no S/C opts. Anyone know how much some great sounding aftermarket exhausts for it?

Modifications for this car are limited, but there are still many things you can do to it. Ive got a Comptech catback exhaust, AEM V2 CAI (great mod btw), UR Pulley, Neuspeed short shifter, Koni shocks and tein springs. There are options to upgrade the so called "headers" on this car. A company called E-Shift performance makes high flow catalytic converters called "Procats" that are installed where the 2 pre-cats meet the heads and also replaces the 3rd cat. Ive seen gains of up to 18-21 whp with these alone. Although, they are kinda pricey at $1100 for the set.

There are a handful of exhaust options for this car as well: Greddy, Tanabe, Comptech, Magnaflow, Borla... you can even go custom if you really wanted to. I personally love my Comptech. People say it sounds like a meaner, deeper G35.

If you really want to S/C the car, be ready to spend at least $5,000+. I know someone who has done this using a Comptech supercharger for an 04-06 TL. It actually bolts up with minor modifications to the radiator and few other things. Engine management and tuning is the biggest problem. Ive done my research on this motor, now if we could only get the aftermarket support needed.

v6p sells a modified radiator for $800 that works with the 04-06 CL Comptech supercharger. Thats your major upgrade, I'm not sure what EMS they use.

^^ covered headers and exhaust. My favorite is Apexi WS2, sounds sick on my car w/ the turbo. Greddy Evo2 is another favorite.

all your after market support for this car has gone into a motor with 2 less cylinders. K24. Realistically, if you were to spend 5k on a Blower, you would end up asking yourself why you blew that money, instead of going for the swap.....I've come close myself into getting the 7th gen v6 6speed coupe....but just like you said, there is such a lack in after market products that i have been shunned away from buying it.

k24a2 has even more potential......

lol i just help my buddy put one into his EM2 today....unfortunately we didnt get it done. But on the brighter side hes got an Extra k24a2 6speed tranny im gonna scoop up. Then i have to find myself a k20a2 longblock.....and get in touch with a CNC machinist i used to work next to to make me up some motor mounts, maybe, just maybe then will have a 5th gen k swap. Its a lot of work though.....dont have time or money for that matter.

A2 is essentially a a4 with higher compressions pistons, performance vtec cam, and a free flowing IM. If you even swap the pistons and IM you're looking at a gain of 15-20whp gain (and that is not a guess). The only thing worthwhile out of a a2 is the head, pistons if you're looking for an N/A build, the bottom end of a k24a1 is much stronger and has better rods, while having good low compression pistons for boost.

k24a4 is out of a CRV, and k24a2 out of a TSX correct?

i havent done too much research on this.....i just helped my buddy put a k24a2 w/ a k20a2 tranny into his EM2 today. Unfortunately we didnt finish the job before i had to go to work. .......makes me really want to put one into my accord. Again there is such a lack of aftermarket support for this swap in the 5 gen.

Small things u could do would be to add a cold-air intake and a custom exhaust. Take ur accord to a shop and tell them u want 2 3/4 inch pipes from the cat back with no resonators. Take them a cannon along with it, and between ur intake and exhaust u should gain 16 to 20 hp along with 12 to 14 ft/lbs of torque. If u want faster throttle response, up the size of ur injectors along with a bigger throttle body and intake manifold. For HUGE increases, slap a T4 hybrid turbo on there which should give u anywhere from 40 to 200 hp depending upon how u have it set up.

That's my car, with the exception of the TB and I have 3" exhaust.

k24a1 = crv, k24a2 = tsx, k24a3 = odyssey, k24a4 = accord/element

k24a2 is better N/A motor, k24a4 is good for k20/24 frank for a turbo or n/a monster.
