a few quick questions, does anyone else have a bouncing fuel gauge? i have a 5th gen prelude and the thing keeps bouncing all over the place. not to mention im only getting about 15 miles/gallon. would the aftermarket intake have anything to do with it? if not, then what else could be causing it?

 

Its not ur intake.....it has no connection.Ity is most likely ur fuel float in the tank.

i had a feeling it was the float. all these older cars arent all that accurate with the gauges. ill have to get that checked out. what could be the cause of my low gas milage? my friend told me to clean my filter and screw around with the gas:air ratio but i kept all the factory settings.

 

Bad mpg could be lots of things,start w air filter/fuel filter,spark plugs,maybe a new cap and rotor,the cheap easy fixes that are most commonly associated with this problem.Then move on to things like pcv valve,or egr,or injectors,but I dnt see a need for advancing or retarding ur timing based on bad mpg.......unless all else is failed.
