I don't really know how much progress I will make with this car, but I always enjoy reading peoples project threads, so I've decided to make one about my new toy!
I've been wanting a 88-91 hatch for quite some time now. Finally I came across my new 1990 dx hatch on Ebay which was located about 150 miles away. I ended up picking it up. It has a rough shifting automatic transmission, a coolant leak, some minor surface rust, a couple dents and dings, rusty exhaust and a nice cd player (that works).

My to do list consists of fixing the surface rust, the water pump, and the exhaust in order to get it in driving condition and able to pass inspection.
Later down the line I plan on a auto to hydraulic manual transmission swap, and build a motor for it. I am also considering a mpfi swap too.
I will update tomorrow when it is sunny.

I made a little bit of progress over the last few days. I pulled out the carpet, sanded down some surface rust behind the tail lights, and started to fix the coolant leak. I also managed to find a couple dollars of change in the car, two umbrellas, numerous pencils and pens, and some jumper cables. The car officially only cost me 512.45 because of the change I found.

As you can see there is some more rust under the bumper. I started to take the bumper off and somehow managed to strip all the screws holding the bumper on. So I am going to have to drill them out to remove them. I'm not sure of the extent of the rust, but I am hoping it's not horrible because I dont know how to weld
I am debating on whether of not I should try to remove the tar/sound deadening material. I don't plan on putting the carpet back in and the floor is pretty nasty/sticky. It seems relatively easy to remove, but I'm not sure. Any input?
Also I somehow managed to make the 164 mile drive from where I bought the car to my house and I only used what looks like 1/4 of a tank. Gotta love the Honda gas mileage.
More progress when I make it!
