Default A/C problem

Hey, this is kind of a weird question but I thought someone on here might konw what's going on with my car. It's an 02 Accord V6 and whenever I start the car the A/C automatically turns on.

I've tried toggling the A/C on and off, turning the entire climate control system off but nothing seems to work. Is there another relay somewhere for the A/C clutch that might be stuck on? I've found the A/C fan relay under the hood but can't seem to find the clutch one.

Thanks a lot!

that is completly normal, nothing to worry about. thats the way it is in most well setup climate controal systems, with the exeption of my moms ford excursion, but my dads volvo does the same thing. incase your wondering i have an 00' ex and everytime i start my car no matter if i turn the ac off before i turn the car off, the ac is always on when the car comes back on.

I think it's set up like that because you're supposed to run the A/C every once in a while for a couple minutes. That way, if you don't use it, you're not supposed to completely neglect the A/C system because if you do, it will cause problems down the road.

That's the only thing I can think of.

Will it eventually turn off? Or do you have to turn it off manually? And if you do turn it off manually after a couple minutes of it being on, will it shut off?

Thanks a lot for the replies! To answer your questions: The A/C never shuts off now, even if I toggle the A/C on and off button. This just started happening a couple of days ago when I noticed it didn't shut off when I turned the whole system off. I've done this many times before since I don't like having the A/C drag on the engine but now the only way I've gotten it to shut off is to pull the fuse, which I did. Any ideas??

Any ideas guys/gals? I called Honda today and they've never heard of someone not being able to shut the A/C off with the climate control. It'll be $100 just to diagnose the problem so I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks!

sounds like it might have something to do with the climate control. I'm not to sure which sensor it is you need to look into.....

i've never come across this problem myself. Unless there was a TSB i missed somewhere this one is new to me. you've started in the right spot though. i'm not quite sure how to help you from here.

i would say you could try going to a junkyard to find another climate control system. those 6th gens are goofy sometimes.

Thanks for the quick reply LocOBanAnA! I'll try to find one at a junk yard I guess. It's definately a weird problem that I've never heard/seen before and apparently neither has the Honda dealer.
