Default block question

ok im doing a mini-me swap in my 1988 crx. i have a d16y7 block to use with the d16z6 head but it had a spun rod bearing. i bought a good set of d16z6 pistons and rods because the pistons/rods from the y7 were worn. would the z6 pistons/rods fit without machine work? also what cranks fit in the y7 block? thanks

ok so how about cranks... the y7 crank needs turning, meaning custom bearings and stuff. would a d16a6 crank work? z6? y8?

Any of them are fine.....the bearings is where you will need to really pay attention.

cool. so will my compression be any different because of stroke differences with different cranks? future plans are forced induction of some kind so is there any particular crank i should look for for lower compression or better strength?

d16 cranks are all the same stroke....its the pistons that are different and change compression....You should pay the most attention to the rods and bearings and pistons if you're gonna boost it.

would stock d16z6 pistons and rods be higher or lower comp than the d16y7 had in the first place?

lower by a little bit

this isnt 100% correct but its fun to play with and gives you an idea of whats going one when swaping parts
