Removing CRX rear wiper
I don't use the rear wiper, and think my CRX would look better without it. However, I don't want to pay $300 to have it shaved, or whatever it would cost.
If anyone's seen the new SCC, the yellow CRX has it done. The guy has some sort of small plug in place of the wiper arm where it goes into the hatch.
Anybody know where I can find this plug and/or what one needs to do to remove the wiper arm and motor/other unnecessary goodies?
Thanks in advance -
Alex

To remove the wiper you take the cover plates off from inside the hatch. The hard part is getting the retaining nut off the top of the motor after the arm itself is off. The plug you need is a typical Ziebart type-many dealers have them-just measure the hole size and you will be fine. You can also try a mobile radio shop as the antenna hole is 3/4". If you plan to race ITA-you cannot remove the unit.

heres how you do it the semi pro way. This way its a clean shave and it looks like your car never came with one. Ive worked this out but i havent done it yet but it should work, ill be doign this as soon as i get some free time on my hands. take out the old wiper, get a small square metal piece a little bigger than the hole, jb weld the edges and place it under the hole to cover it up from the inside, place something under it to wedge the piece in there and hold it while the jb weld hardens, give it abot 4 hours to fully dry. once its in there, get yourself some bondoglass(bondo with fiberglass fibers). fill the small hole with bondoglass to smooth it out, let it dry, sand, if its imperfect or if you got any holes or cracks, re bondo and sand till smooth, then just primer and paint.
I'm shaving mine... I welded metal behind it and am filling it with Ultimate bondo. Regular bondo sucks cause it is all clumpy and hard to sand down smooth
