Default Comptech air filter vs. K&N air filter

do you guys think a stock GS-R intake with the Comptech or K&N drop in filter would be more effective?

also, is the ice box worth the $?
i heard if you just get the ice box and filter, there may be fitment issues with the ABS unit. is that true?

would the stock ITR (USDM or JDM) intake (excluding the duct/arm) mount right up to a GS-R?

TIA for any suggestions!

really? so the intake resonator and the air cleaner box from the ITR won't align with the GS-R's intake arm/duct (i.e. stock intake arm/duct + GS-R IM)?

reviving this thread from the dead.

does anyone have instructions on how to modify the ru2820 or ru3130 to fit the stock integra intake? the old article on the integra.vtec.net website is no longer there.

or if anyone has done the mod can list the materials and roughly how to do it, that would be most helpful.

thx

Screwdriver, tinsnips, and dremel (and a dustmask). Dremel is the most useful of the three tools.

I used some of the metal core (which i cut down w/ tinsnips, after prying the paper off w/ screwdriver) of the old OEM filter as the mounting point to clamp a 3130, but this came off eventually, so I dremeled out most of the white adhesive until I saw black plastic underneath, all around the central tube of the old filter arm and just clamped it on there.

You just need a pair of pliers and a saw. Saw the filter material off the old filter and remove excess mesh grille with pliers.
