on i know GSXRs teh 6 pot brakes have been known to warp discs. I don't really think the 6 pots are necessary. You take your 4-pots, a good set of pads, and some SS lines and you've got some serious stopping power.

hey rdblck, do you have an easy link where i could see some pics of your bike? I figured you had probably posted it in the bike pic thread, but didn't really feel like sifting through 40 some odd pages to find it. TIA

**nevermind, found it... nice bike I'm planning on getting one soon as I start working full time and making some decent $$

if you swap brakes on the 919 try the rc51 brakes + master cylinder. i really don't think it's necessary though. put on some vesrah or other good pads (not ebc of galfer) and maybe ss lines.

A master cylinder upgrade will make the biggest difference for feel and ultimate power.

ebc and galfer have problems with warping and losing stopping power. This is coming from riders who've been tracking bikes for years and are in A-group. i know on the rc51 many people have had issues with ebc pads warping and my friend is having issues with his galfer pads. the stock ones stopped better

for what bike? personally ride what you got. you'll find out if they're adequate or not when you're there. Judging by your posts it seems like you're over thinking things and believe your bike isn't up to the job. I think it is. The 919 for a B-group session will be more then adequate in stock form. the sv650 would be too. If you modify the 919 I'm not sure what does and does not fit but some possible honda brakes that'd fit are the f4i, rc51, or 600rr. the sv650 4 piston gsxr brakes are what you'd want though ss lines and pads do more then enough. It's really one of those things where you have to think, does it work good right now or is it really holding me back and I need to fix this.

i don't NEED anything. I was just looking around and remember seeing quite a few bikes in the past who switched over to the 6pot so i thought i's ask the question. as for the 919, the brakes do seem good but some times i get the feeling im going to over heat them get some fade. i guess just getting some good track pads would be good enough. right now i have some EBC HH sintered and they are great street pads but i don't have the greatest confidence with them

stock pads > ebc. i wouldn't touch a thing on your bike. leave it. I switched to 6 pot brakes on my superhawk cause the stock superhawk ones weren't very good at all but even ss lines and pads made them quite good

*edit* plus I'm not sure there are any 6 piston brakes to swap over to your bike. more pistons doesn't always equal better brakes. it's very possible that possible swaps would be the rc51, gsxr 4 piston, cbr f4i, 1000rr (radial conversion). Don't forget for almost all to get the larger master cylinder. a new master cylinder alone may help too
