My moonroof won't open
I have a '95 Integra. The moonroof won't open. When I push the switch I can hear that it's trying to open but can't. It will move just a tiny bit but that's all. Before, I would have to push it a little to get it to open. But now it just won't. Any help or suggestions to fix it?
try opening it w/ the manual/emergency crank (should be in your trunk tool kit) and then when its opened.. clean the rails/guides that it slides on... I clean mine about once every year because it begins to slow.. and I have a sunroof closure module w/ my alarm.. and if it feels too much resistance (current draw) it stops thinking its closed all the way when it really isn't... so I clean it everyyear to make sure it slides fast and smooth.. probably better for the sunroof motor/mechanism too..
anyway I use WD-40 to clean the dirt on the rails.. then I get a towel and wipe it up..theres usually a lot of black dirt.. then I use white lithium grease to lube the tracks .. then I start the motor so I dont kill the battery.. and I open and close the sunroof a couple times so it slides on the track and on the grease..

i have the same problem, but not all the time. when it happens, i hold the switch open and give the roof a gentle push up- it should go.
Borrow a crank and clean those rails. The WD40 / white lithium method is perfect and highly recommended. everyone should clean the guides before it becomes a problem.

u sure you don't have it? look in your trunk w/ the jack tools.. its a bent "s" looking tool that has like a hex key/end to it..did you buy your car used? I can't imagine it not being there.. or the previous owner taking it out.. if you don't have it borrow one from a friend and open your sunroof manually and then clean it as I stated above..
and yes you can buy white lithium grease at the autoparts store.. at least the one near me... it comes in either a tube, or a tub (like butter)... it works well to lube squeaky doors too.. don't know if you guys have encountered that as mine is a 95 and a lot of you guys probably have newer model years.. but its annoying as hell to open your door and hear a squeak...

Yeah, I bought the car used. It didn't even have the manual or any of the emergency tools. Anyway, I'll try to borrow one and I have the white lithium.
Push it all the way open with your hand holding down on the open button and then clean it.. its not ******* rocket science here.. PUSH IT OPEN.. then CLEAN THE RAILS... THEN IT WILL OPEN!! WOOPY!
