Default b17-b18 help

i was wondering what i needed to do to run b17 in a b18 bottom end. i have a 18 crank and block. everything else is 1.7. how would it work out or would it. i been trying to research this for sometime. im leading to beleive its not possible.i have found nothing. i have the 1.7 rods, pistons oil pump, and pan, the little feeder thing. water pump timing belt, complete b.17 head. 18 crank and block. please tell me if it will work out or if i need to do something else. thanks.

you need the whole b17 rotating assembly, crank included, all you will do is effectively lower displacement. the b17 uses a b16 head which is the same casting as the itr head but without the goodies, just get b18c rods and itr pistons

B17 rods are too short for a B18 block. If you swap those out, everything should work.
