88 hf tranny in a 91 si
you will need the clutch and flywheel to match the tranny. why would anyone in their right mind do this anyways? have you seen an 88hf clutch? its like the size of a kids plate at dennys.
You need to use the inner cv from the hf and the outer from the si. I believe you can use an 88 si clutch and clutch plate, to give you more connection. The 88 clutch has a different number of splines on the tranny, but if you use a 88 clutch, you should be fine.
^^^^....You have it backwards, the outers are the different ones. You can use your Si axles. I know this for a fact, I ran Si knuckles and axles in my 88HF before I swapped out the 8-valve and HF trans. The outer HF CV joints are like tooth picks.
Having the smaller 88HF clucth will allow for a bit better MPG as its lighter.
