if you cut the doors the window regulators will have no where to pivot and you will not be able to use the windows at all.

Really? you think so? the whole idea of cutting the doors out is to lose weight. when you cut the doors out you replace the original windows with LEXAN. and you attach the lexan with Rivets or screws.

Hey bud did you read the original post? No I dont think so. Do you? He asked if he cut them would the windows properly work.

To the OP cutting out the guts wont allow you to have the window regulator bolted to anything.

Please dont go hacking up the doors to save 15lbs

No you are the idiot. Of course your windows wont work, that is the whole point of cutting doors out. He is saying that when you cut your doors out you have to use lexan for new windows held on by srews or rivets. Maybe you should READ someone else's post first.

why the hell do want to take the doors off? u won't lose that much weight that way!!! Plus crx'x already have the worse side crash rateing possiable. just do fenders, hood , hatch. that is more realistic!! thats m personal opion!

You could always do a window like this:

I switched to 88 doors, and removed the side impact beams. Probably saved around 50lbs per side, and I still have functioning windows. I suggest doing that.

But then that kind of defeats the "weight reduction" Factor.

Not really if you were going to put the cage in anyway. Think about it, 50lbs from the door, 60, take out the door bars, and instead of 110 pounds total you only have 60.

If you werent planning to put in a cage then yeah, its kind of stupid.

you remove the weight of the doors, you add weight of the cage and have a SAFER, better handling car.

think of it that way.
