Default k20a3

I was wondering is the k20a3 motor has hydralic lifters or if they have to be manually adjusted like the b series. I searched but could not find the answer. Thanks.

Do you mean manually adjusted as in when you do the valve lash adjustment, it has to be done by hand (each intake and exhaust valve)? If that is so, then yes. Here is the link to the "Ultimate valve adjustment guide" from EPHatch's DIY section: http://www.ephatch.com/forum/s...tment

Too true, the K20A3 is the black sheep of the K-series engines . Doesn't really have much going for it, and it wasn't that much of successor to the B16A2. Honda really should be ashamed, I would have loved to have the A2 in my Si from the factory, but oh well... guess I'll have to keep saving up for that K20A.

Nah, the A3 is a far better cry from the D17 in EM2 Civic's. Those little bastards of engines will never see any type of aftermarket support. At least the A3 can get KPRO and a headswap.

Honda never makes an engine to do over what it is designed to do. The B18 non-vtec engine is the prime example. Through a few more RPM or boost and the engine is screaming bloody murder through the rod bolts. For what the cars go for used, a Type-S is the only real option.
