ok, so on my way to finally get my prelude up and running, i messed up again. its been sitting for months waiting for me to weld on a new front radiator support. i got all the new parts got it ready to go. i figured i would test drive it down my road to make sure it was ok to drive. since my old hood latch got busted up, i used zip ties to hold it down. long story short, zip ties dont work very well. the hood flew up and ruined the roof and windshield so i think i'm forced to give up on my lude. i guess i'll put the h22 into something else. let me know if anyone's got any cars for real cheap...
Should've used those real thick ones. I know the feeling, cause I did the same thing in my friends CRX a few years back, but we were using bunggie cords, and I guess it slipped off, and hte hood flew right open and busted the windshield throwing glass all on me. I was mad, but then I started laughing cause this car was such a piece of **** beater

I've always thought those convertible jobs looked awesome, I know a lot of people don't like them but I think they look great. Too bad I have no where near the bodywork skills to do something like that.
dude my hood flew off today, lmao. short story but i got a hood from a friend and the hinges wouldnt line up so i just latched it down well i popped it at a gas station thinking I could check my plugs but i forgot it was hooked up to the hinges so i dropped it and drove down the road and took a turn and my whole hood went about 15ft sliding down the road and ended up sitting under someones car waiting to take a turn.. it was embarassing lol.

Sometimes I wonder how more honda tech kids don't die each year. There are a number of things on your car that you need to take the utmost care with when working on, and the hood is definitely one of them. Don't ghetto rig that ****, it is not worth it, look what happened to the OP.
