Default DOHC < SOHC?

NOT!,

but in my predicament I have an f22b - vtec to swap for my h23.

Questions:
To wire the vtec on this is it the same as wiring vtec for the h22 swap?
If I want to run a vtec controller is it still wired the same?
Any help and knowledge of this engine would help me.

in terms of wires yes... you will have to run the wires from the VTEC solenoid and the VTEC oil pressure switch. Your stock harness may not be be prewired for VTEC so you might need to get a pinout diagram and runs wires from the harness back into the engine bay to the solenoid and switch.

there are rare cases of some earlier preludes (4th gens) that were prewired

but most don't come with it
