Belts too Tight?
Did my timing belt change last week and when we started up the car, the alt. belt squealed. So we tightened it up more but now it only did it right when the car started up and went away after like 2 secs. Yesterday, I took the time wth a friend to just comletely retighten all the belts and take my time. Now nothing squeaks but in a weird way, you can almost feel the engine pulling all the belts. Is it possible to overtighten the belts too much and have the car feel like its pulling all of them when your driving. Also, the car now starts up in the morning with a large jolt with vibrations then like a sec later it's normal idling.

Correct. You don't need to put an extreme amount of force when tring to leverage the belts to get them tight. You should be able to "twist" the belt slightly, showing some play.

Well crossing my fingers so far cause the car is acting alot better after we just slightly loosened the belts last night. Thank god for that. No more hash vibrations and no more feeling the engine pulling those belts. Thanks for the help!
