All B series headers/exhaust manifolds are interchangeable...
*why do you need a vtec controller?

leave it where its at right now. if you dont tune the ecu for the lower vtec engagement, its going to run like ****.

that b16 wont benefit from a vtec controller. but if you eventually want to blow your motor from bed timing and fuel maps, then go for it

I wouldn't lower the vtec any, 5 grand is a good place to cross into vtec. I switched my vtec to a lower engagement via spoon chip but thats only cause it was kicking in at 5800. Remember, vtec runs off of oil pressure, so when you lower its engagement, it doesn't kick in as strong as it would where its set now beacuse of that, you would just get it a hair earlier, plus buddies of mine with vtec controllers have played around with vtec engagements and their pretty fond of a 5200 crossover and your pretty close to that, ok, thats my 2 cents

buy lowering vtec you really screw with the factory design.

the only reason you should lower it is if you are having your car dyno tuned and you map the low and high cams seperately to find the perfect crossover point.

the best vtec crossover is the one you dont feel by letting vtec kick on early you would be robbing yourself of the much needed torque that is found in the lower rpms.

the smaller cam lobes one the camshaft are designed to restrict exhaust flow to increase toque until a cetain rpm where the motor switches to a bigger cam for higher rpm breathing.

lowering the crossover point you will be using the big cam in the lower rpms exactly what its not designed for.

Type R header and B16 header can interchange, and I've used a Type R header on my B18a/b...so why wouldn't a B16 header fit a B18a/b?

B16A has a shorter deck height, all other B-Series blocks are taller. A B16A header will not fit on any other B-Series motor.
