Mine was 500whp and I never had a problem with it over heating. I took it on six hour road trips.

i think what he was trying to convey is that does it really matter what the worlds fastest integra type r is bescaus when its that much of a race car type r is only gonna be a sticker on the qtr panel. your old full race setup was fat but he is talking about fully done up 1/4 mile race cars, not cars driven on the street.

i also think this is the point he was making
it was a little bit of a harsh way to say it
but essentially when its quarter mile racing, all of the preparation thats gone into making a Type-R special becomes pointless. a fully built monster in even the most lowly civic hatch shell is going to be as fast as a fully built monster in a Type-R shell
different performance discipline requires different preparation

My friend has a 700whp Civic hatchback... He's never had a problem with overheating, he drives it to Wilmington (Hour and a half trip there and back, not to mention driving around Wilmington for a few hours) on a weekly basis, on the only problem he's had, was breaking the shifter at the track.
