is the hatch on the integra suppose to go up by itself when you lift it a little?

i bought it used so i dont know. its not heavy but its heavy for what it is. my mom complains how hard it is to lift up.

It should stay up once you lift it. The force isn't that much. If it falls, they are bad.

That is because you have a type R spoiler.....i have the same thing and it became harder to lift up due to added wieght.

 

No it is not supposed to go up by "itself". But it also should fall down. Once you reach like 3/4 of the way up then it should go up by itself. Besides that it shouldn't be falling down. The pressure that is in the struts is compressed so it will obviously need a bit of force to push up in the beginning giving it that "heavy" effect.

 

when i open mines..it just requires a tiny push and it goes up all the way by itself.
