Default how to remove panel

I am trying to route a 12V line (6awg wire) to my trunk- I already have it fused and tapped off the battery and through an existing rubber grommet in the firewall.

In my old car I pulled 2 screws and ran the wire under the plastic panel in the bottom of the doorframe that you step over when you get in the car (I don't know what this is called). In my new car (07 Accord VP) there are 2 panels- one towards the outside that just pops off when you pull up on it (I can't run the wire through there, there's no room) and an inner one, which is the same molding as the cover of the area with the gas cap/trunk release lever. I cannot remove this plastic panel- does anyone know how to do it?

Thanks
