New guy here: Accord has rough idle, bad gas milage, and misfires
I have a 1993 Honda Accord EX, the car starts fine but when it idles it shakes the whole car, i have had new wires, and plugs put in and it still shakes, also the gas milage is now
bad and it misfires.....the spark plugs don't misfire it is one of the wires that go to the spark plug. I have heard many things that could be wrong with it like the distributor, fuel injector, throttle body, and the manifold absolute pressure sensor. Me personally i think it is the distributor but if i am wrong please let me know before i replace it and if anybody could help me with this i really would appreciate it
. oh also i saw this posted too but i just wanted to know if it really works and if it will mess up anything here it is "for more sound and power you can unbolt your headers from your head and drive without them..."

What is the idle RPM?
I'd say try replacing plug wires before the dist. replacement
throttle plate clean and IACV clean might help a lot.

it idles around 400-500, sometimes it's lower than that. I just replaced the plug wires because of this problem and it is still doing it and i put new plugs in, also the check engine light doesn't come on.
i wouldn't recommend driving without a header. talk about screwing up your engine, it operates partly based on back pressure from the exhaust; so probably not a good idea.
9 times out of 10 the check engine light is pretty much good for nothing, i've found; you know there's a problem and you don't need a light to tell you, right?
I would suggest that you check the distributer cap, and if that's fine and good next on your list should be the IAC valve. I'm at that point myself with my own car, actually. you could clean it, or if the screw heads on the plate are stripped like mine are (hurray!) then you could replace it altogether, it's an easy in - out.

i cleaned the IACV and it runs ok now, but every once in a while it idles a little rough which is ok just as long as it does not do it all the time.
