well i just got this car with a D15b8 in it
and idk but i reset my mileage counter when i had a full tank
its close to empty and i only got 150 miles out of it ?
it is suppose to be like that
or should i be getting way more
b.c i thought that engine gets really good gas mileage
anything i should check?
i just changed the oil two days ago and the oil is already black
wth is up?

Do general maintenance, such as replace your spark plugs, have timing checked, oil change, ect.
Also, a worn MAP sensor and a worn or malfunctioing O2 sensor will cause really bad gas mileage becuase the sensors arent sending accurate info to the ECU, therefor its putting more fuel in than needed. The B8 is 8 valves, and runs somewhat lean compared to most other motors (or so i was told) so yea, you should be getting excellent gas mileage with it once those are checked/fixxed


Edit: You also have the trans that does 80mph in 2nd gear, lol long gears FTW.

 

how will i know if my o2 sensors arent working correctly?
my CEL isnt on or anything

 

Well, over time O2 sensors get gunked up with carbon from the exhaust. Now this means that they are still reading, but not nearly as effectivly as if it were cleaned or newer.
so heres what you do:
Take your O2 sensor out, and clean it using carb\choke cleaner and/or Brake cleaner. Do this by taking the unit out, and spraying some on the tip, and wiping clean with a rag. Repeat this multiple times, and allow good time to dry. If your O2 sensor is in decent condition, this should work well. If not, it might end up not doing anything, which means the unit needs to be replaced as it is.
Same goes for you map sensor, take it out, clean out the gunk and carbon buildup on it, using only small amounts of cleaner, being careful not to saturate the unit, its electrical. This should help somewhat. If not, both should be replaced, because when it comes to crappy gas mileage, those are the biggest culprits when it comes to problems with air\fuel mixture in a stock engine.
