'99 civic with AT, 99K
I drive the car long enough to warm it up, turn it off for a while, and when I drive again the car will die. It will start, then die again. This goes on for maybe 5 tries or if I let it sit for a few minutes. Then it runs normal.
1) It's not showing anything as far as CEL codes.
2) I can hear the fuel pump is coming on as normal.
3) I replaced the main fuel relay. I understand there is a problem with the solder connections being exposed to hot temperatures like a closed up car. I know someone who had the same problem and changing the relay fixed theirs, but not mine.
4) Battery connections are clean and tight.

Check your alternator, could be going bad.

 

Alternator, or maybe your starter is taking a poop.

A ground could be loose too, but it's unlikely.

 

possible crack in your distibuter cap??

 

sounds like a igniter or coil ? it will restart after it cools down ? whats the inside of the dist cap look like any white death present ?

 

Check your map sensor on the throttle body that the plug is nice and tight.
