Default Time is near, farewell b18a...

Just recently I've welcomed another vehicle to my home which brought me back into Honda, I blame a term I call, VWS= Vtec Withdrawl Syndrome. I had a sudden urge to want a honda w/a vtec motor. It immediately took over my state of mind away from my current euro project. After being away from honda w/b-series vtec for nearly 9 months. Just 3 days after this overwhelming condition, I bought myself a 91 DA, clean title, all original, etc. I'm currently doing body work on it, sanding and prepping for paint.

Next to come is a newer motor, suspension and wheels. My main concern is the motor swap, b16 vs. b18c/c1, I know most of you will say gsr all the way. To be honest, I am not going to build this car for race as I did with my previous Honda's, this times its just a DD with some "umph" on the streets and hwy, no drag/auto-x/circuit/etc, its strictly going to have bolt-ons and mild headwork btw. B16's are cheaper to come by then gsr's, and the thought of an xsi replica minus the RHD of course is quite pleasing to me and to have. Gsr's have lots of positive information and have great personal experience with it. Also I've never driven a DA w/a b16 so not really sure what to expect. But the budget on the motor swap is more of my concern, since I got another car which is a boosted euro that I put my $$ in as well.

What are ya'll opinions, budget wise for the swap? That is soon to be accomplished and still be satisfied with the outcome.

I had considered that as well too, a b16a sir II with itr or ctr cams, jdm itr pistons, itr IM and TB, jdm itr header, and a chipped p28. Any other opinions?

The B16 offers VTEC for a great price, but driving a GS-R just feels so F'ing right. I say take your time, fight off the VWS for a couple more pay checks, and get the GS-R! You know you won't regret it. Also, after you do all those mods to your B16 you just about spent the same price to get a GSR.

That's also a lot of work. This guy just wants to get a motor and be done with.

That sounds like alot of work, time, and money to only be driven on the streets with no race/track time whatsoever.
