2002 S2k factory alarm problem
So my new stookie had previously been rear-ended (has a new trunk lid, rear driver quarter panel, and rear bumper).... and the old owner removed the fuses for the factory alarm for a previously unknown-to-me reason.
I replaced them today and the alarm just started going off. The remote won't stop it, using the key in the door won't stop it, heck - not even starting the car made it cease. Had to remove the fuses again to get it to stop (I removed the horn relay for testing and the alarm stayed on spaz-out mode for the 10 mins I was trying to shut it off).
Now, my guess is that something to do with a trunk sensor is screwy (since the trunk lid has been replaced) - but I haven't had any time to study the whole car yet and have no clue where such a sensor would be...let alone how to test that.
Has anybody else experienced this with their factory alarm? Or do you guys have any other ideas about what I should check that might cause it not to disarm?
Alternatively, if anybody can locate Honda's installation instructions for the alarm... I guess I could just follow them in reverse
ANyways, thanks in advance for your help!

thank you!!! After checking all the connections, I finally got it to work properly by putting the fuses in, then holding the disarm button for about 10 seconds!

after looking in to the installtion of the factory alarm, I would be worried about theft on this car. I sure the theives know this is right under the seat.

That's a very good point. Though it's nice now to be able to see how it's installed... one could pretty easily just relocate it to their own installation point of choice.... and mount the disarm switch somewhere else too.
