1990 Integra b16 swap
I have a 1990 integra Rs and i am going to do a 88-91 b16 sir-1 swap and i have a few questions?.....i need to know if the b18 shift linkage will fit onto the b16 tranny or shoud i just buy the b16 shift linkage and i am going to replace all the motor mounts but i need to know if i should get b16 mounts or stock integra mounts?
everything will work teg linkage and teg mounts but i would get new mounts and new linkage bushings its on you but it will all work but newho y not buy a gsr or something that u can find which will more likely have less milage and be less worn out or even an ls or b20 b20's are faster than old worn down b16 neday
thankz i appreciate it.......trust me i wish i cud get a gsr but right now im running on a deadline........and i know i got convert wiring and also gotta convert for the hydraulic tranny......a b20 was my first decision but i knew i had to get a tranny.....and on top of that i want vtec.....and i know a b20z is a long process and i aint got the time or money for that right now.......so i looked up an integra da6 xsi in japan and i figured that i wanted to turn my da into an xsi......i know its not that fast but i aint gonna be speeding much cuz i got 11 points on my license....lol...but the b16 i found online has newhere from 15,000-30,000 miles and its coming in from canada.......thankz bro
naw man go to http://www.tigerjapanese.com and there shippin is cheap motors only have like 25k there cheaper than anywhere else check them out
Look, if you want a clean, unf**ked motor, then get one from Hmotorsonline. They run a tight ship. I've had alot of motors come in, and I was very impressed with this one. Very well organized! Oh, and by the way, their 100% startup guarantee is not a b.s. deal. My motor started up like a champ. I have alot of faith in hmotorsonline, and told them how nice of an operation they run.
My grand total was $1496.00 shipped with everything.
Just let hmotors know that you want to get the PR3 B16a from an Integra Xsi. This motor will be sent with either an S1 or a J1 tranny. It should come with the complete motor (with all necessary wiring), tranny, and ecu.
Next, you'll want to do the wiring. If you don't like the thought of a shitty looking wiring job, then call up Rywire and talk to Peter, and have him send you a VTEC subharness for $55, which includes a neatly built subharness along with instructions. I was a typical on my first swap and didn't do this, and I ended up going to the salvage yard on a Sunday morning trying to find ecu connector pins only because I was toooo f**kin' lazy to get the simple and easy to use VTEC subharness from Rywire.
Just take your time.
P.S.1- Here's a little hint that may help you, which is to know that the PA sensor is built into the ecu. Many wiring guides will have a wire listed for the PA sensor, but it is actually built into the ecu. LOL
P.S.2- Almost forgot to mention that you should get a new clutch set along with the other things that hmotors recommends.
Good luck!
