u dont need to worry about the crank sensor, it will not need it.
Is the shell a 92-95? if so u need the 92-95 harness...

If the motor is a 97 Si then it is a Vtec motor. You're confusing me.

Are you using the Y7 ECU too?

The 3rd wire on your D16 harness that doesn't match the B16's sensor is just shield ground for the CKF. Don't bother hacking your harness. Search for the CKF trick. It just uses the CKP output as it's own, since they're same 'shape'.

You've got to worry about the 3-wire IACV and adding a third wire back to the ECU though, since the B16 uses a 2-wire IACV.

You don't have to worry about a KS, since the Y7 ECU doesn't look for one.

You don't have to worry about VTEC pressure/solenoid, since the Y7 ECU doesn't look for those either.

But because you're using an OBD2a motor, the distributor plug is different than your 99 Si harness. OBD2a has the tach signal coming out of the distributor. OBD2b has the tach signal coming out of the ECU - that's where the 8 vs 9 pin difference is.

Is this a car you're trying to get to pass emissions?

yea i already cut the 3 wire from the crank sensor and use only 2 wires from there.( the white and blue). and splice in the si crank sensor which only has 2 wire(white and blue) now my question is will the engine light come on? and i need to pass the inspection so i cant have engine light on. thanks.

The light won't come on assuming you've got things wired correctly. As I also said, you can do the CKF trick if all else fails.
