Default Dyno opinions needed

I'm going to be doing some dyno runs for a company coming out with a new ignition product (all I can talk about for now). Anyway. from my knowledge, the ECU changes the ignition timing based on detonation (as close to it without it happening). To effectively test this product vs OEM, should I reset the ECU before both the baseline and modified runs? I plan on driving in there with OEM hooked up, and leaving with whichever works better

Since it sounds like you are doing this for a company, I would ask them how they want the procedure to go, since it is their product on the line.
