Yet Another B18c1 Build
I've dabbled in FI with ok results but having to work on the car a lot. I've had an AWD car and broken the transmission 3 times. So now I'm going to give all motor a shot. The car is a 92 SI. I bought it with a 2001 B18c1 under the hood, and after 4 months of driving it (mostly on weekends, if that), I've decided to spice it up a little bit. My build consists of:
Block:
RS-Machines CTR 81.5mm w/Arias Rings
Stock GSR rods
ARP Rod Bolts
ARP Main Studs
ACL Bearings
Head:
Street Port Job from Brad @ RLZ
Blox HSL cams
MFactory Cam gears
Supertech Dual Valve Springs
Blox Titanium Retainers
Blox Intake Manifold
Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
Precision 880cc Injectors (I know they are way over kill, I bought them when I planed on a turbo setup)
Either Edelbrock or AN-R header, haven't decided
Trans:
GSR trans with B16 gearset
LSD 6 puck Clutch w/ Pressure Plate
LSD Steel 11lb Flywheel
I'm having Howard @ RLZ assemble everything. Also, the car will be tuned on Crome. From reading similar setups posted on here I see around 210-218whp, and that seems reliable enough to play with on days off. Any input, or advice is welcomed.

I've read a post using PCT pistons, and another using 12.5:1 CR, both are using pump gas (and are almost identical setups to mine). I asked the guy with the PCT about his tuner pulling timming, and he said none was pulled. Granted I don't know how good of a tuner this is. If it comes down to it I don't mind running better gas as I won't be driving the car everyday. Howard had an issue with my cams perhaps being to big for my application, what do you think?

The only problem I could possibly see with the cams is a piston to valve clearance issue, but Howard would know MUCH more than I would.
IMO change the pistons not the cams. After tearing down GSR motors that have PCT pistons some have actually had indentations left in their head from the piston touching.
I am really oposed to using PCT pistons in anything with more than a 77mm stroke as it is not necessary. You can achieve the compression you are looking for 12's with B16 P30's or JDM ITR P73's. IMO anything more than that and you are asking for problems.

I ran the numbers in that calculator, and see that there is only .004 piston-deck clearance. Thats a little to close for comfort. I'm goin to talk to howard and see what he reccomends. Thanks for the insite.
I'm working on a bottom build end just like yours. I'm using P30s. You don't need that much compression to get good results. PCTs are heavy and they have a huge dome which does not promote good combustion.
If Brad or Howard is porting your head then your motor will definitely make good numbers.
I'm interested in why you choose HSL cams. I'm thinking about pro2.

I read about some setups using the HSL cams, and was impressed with what I saw. Also, I got the cams, springs, and retainers at a very good combo price. I just read about possibly shaving the dome on the PCT pistons (since I already have them). The main concern I have now is piston-valve clearance.

I think I would look around and trade someone for some smaller injectors. 880cc is just rediculous for 230HP. I mean you'll get really low duty cycles thats for sure
PS, I think 12.5:1 would be OK on 93, 91 I wouldn't brave that personally. Don't know what North Carolina has.

The head is still at RLZ.
North Carolina has 93 and 100...When the car is finished I'll trade you for your Exige
