OK here's my situation, i just bought a 97 prelude SH. SEARCH'd and couldn't find anything.

the passenger sidemarker wasn't working, so i go to replace the bulb. when i open it up (the sidemarkers were changed to aftermarket clear ones by previous owner) i find this:


and when i give it a tug, it just pulls off the car. as you can see the wires on that are green/white, and i believe the ones it were TAPED to were black/red.

the driver's side works fine and the part the bulb plugs into is completely different, it's a black rubber thing and im pretty sure its stock. (yes i'm a noob, forgive me)

so i really dont know what the hell this thing is, but regardless the wires being cut, it didnt even fit in the sidemarker housing.

if anyone could explain to me what's going on i'd really appreciate it.

also, can anyone point me in the direction of where i can buy a new set of sidemarker parts (wires, thing the bulb plugs into etc) i tried majestic honda but the item names were so vague i didnt know what they were referring to.

 

bump.... c'mon, anyone?? if anything else i just need a point in the right direction toward some OEM sidemarkers, though i'd prefer a decent set of aftermarket clear ones.

 

I'm a complete n00b as well, used to be really into Preludes and was able to purchase a 97 SH about two weeks ago, but I was able to find a website that had side marker parts for the 97 prelude. link is below.

looks like someone found a piece that would work and crammed it in there? Not positive obviously (anyone agree?).. hope that helps.
