POWER STREEING
Unless you take the belt off its still going to "rob power" if you think thats what the power steering is doing. When your going in a straight line there is almost no resitance on the pulley, aka its really easy to turn. So unless your racing around corners and stuff I dont think disabling the power steering is going to make you any faster.
I tried to be as nice as I could but trying to switch off the power steering is the most retarded thing I have ever heard.
Why not just hook a switch up to your alternator and make it so it shuts off when your racing?

You might actually get a better feel for the car with the power stearing off. I read the first post and actually thought it was a good idea. Not because the power steering robs power but because it more fun to drive on a track with out power steering. I know there is no power steering in F1, and the s2000 will actually cut out the power steering as speed increases. I think it would be cool. St Jimmy maybe you could tell us how to mod up the alternator.

The car wouldn't run long without the alternator, it was a joke.
If you wanted to just take it off for a day at the track, all you have to do is take off the belt.
