Well im getting my swap done this weekend but the info im looking for i cant seem to find directly. what i wanted to know is if the hasport mount kit(EGB1) includes the tranny mounts that i would need for installation? i only see three listed. My setup includes the sir 2 b16 with a 92 ls tranny which is cable into a eg. I know i need the shift linkage along with the conversion kit which hasport provides. My other question was which axles should i go with for this setup as well(eg 4 door non abs). is it the 90-93 integra axles?

 

dont waste your time, that LS tranny is gonna make that B16 feel like a snail.

 

Here's an Idea, get a non-cable, non-slow as **** tranny.

You won't need any fancy conversion kit, you can utilize one of your stock tranny mounts, and you won't have a POS tranny with crap gear ratios.

Get a b16 tranny, can be had for $400-600. Make sure it's hydrolic too.

I bet you could IM or call hasport and they'd give you the skinny on all of their products.

you dont want to bother with that ls trans or the cable.. sell the trans and get yourself a b16 trans.. also with the hasport mounts you wont need any more then those 3.. they are stiff enough to hold that motor in place

 

im sorry i forgot to mention its turboed.thats why im using the ls tranny i heard and searched that alot of people use the ls tranny over the b16 because of the longer gear ratios.

I've never figured out why people recommend longer/slower gear ratios.

Short gears = faster car. Plain and simple.

alright so im getting the b16 tranny then. but as far as the tranny mounts i can use the stock one except for one correct?

 

hmm... i havent done a b16 swap in years.. if i remember correctly you can use the drive side motor and trans.. you'll need a b-series rear bracket and the two front if you want them.. but if you are getting hasports, the 3 you'll get will work just fine

I've never understood that either. The taller gear pundits will tell you, "you can stay in boost longer" and come up with 6 paragraphs of BS made-up info to try and back it up. Well here's some news kids, power is power no matter how you get it. The trans knows no difference. Think about this. If you had an N/A car with the power of a boosted car would you want to "stay in N/A" longer? No, you would want to TAKE ADVANTAGE of gearing to make you car go faster. Otherwise, what's the point of having a transmission at all?

 

it all depends on what kind of driving are you planning to do...there are some advantages and disadvantages of longer and short gear ratios. just keep in mind shorter gear ratios rev up pretty high when you are cruising. honestly i would rather boost a ls block than a b16. more torque would be nice.. or d series blocks are fun to play with as well....it all depends on what your level of power your planing to produce and what type of driving..
