someone wants to sell me the 2 back windows for a EG hatch for $50 bucks, is that a good deal?
and is it worth it?
how many lbs would I be saving from switching the OEM ones to the lexan?

It's also REALLY sharp if it breaks.

seriously, the back windows don't weigh much at all. when I had mine removed for my paint, I picked them up and thought it wasn't glass it was so light. The windshield is where a lot of weight is, along with the rear window.

Lexan will flex and cut you, glass will cut you as it crumbles.
If I had to pick, Id get cut by glass.

when automotive glass breaks it crumbles into tiny little pieces. from just looking at the pic of that broken lexan window decapitation comes to mind.

Do you not understand that atomotive glass is SAFETY GLASS?
Like doood said, look at the glass they broke in the front windows of the hatch above. That is stock glass. Safety glass.

I've had safety glass end up in my mouth in an accident. It does not cut you very well. It did cut, but just enough so I could taste blood in my mouth.

go to a junkyard and throw a transmisson throw a car window obsreve,
lexan is hard as expletive to break, there are rally cars which have rolled and still have the lexan riveted to it

Rally windows are hardcore. I've seen some over 1/4" thick.
FAL windows, however, aren't approved for sanctioned rally events. They're only NHRA drag approved, and are 1/8" thick. That's about the thickness of two CD's.
