read, read, read, and read some more on this site, and also look on wilkpedia, so that you can learn the general physics of an internal combustion engine. then look into the companies that manufacture some of the major parts for your car like denso. there is an awesome helpful links section on this forum. and then ask the questions you still have after you have some idea what the answers mean

Denso?
Yeah, they manufacture major parts for the car .... like main relays, and starters.

dont sweat it bro, i have the slowest car in my group of friends but hey my **** looks clean and handles great. Forsure my y8 gets 10x better mpg than any of my buddies cars.
Just research, research, save, save, and save. With minor mods, a swapped honda can def beat a 200hp car. If your not in CA i would suggest you boost your z6, running a turbo on stock internals you can easily make 200hp.

Sell your civic and buy a 97-01 ls1 firebird.
my trans am ran 13's all day.
Bolt on's will get you nowwhere with a d-series or a b-series if you want to put the smack down on cars that were fast from the factory.
And take your lame-ness to the track man, only stunnas kill families on the freeway.
and you won't be winning long distance races either, most cars are designed to get about 300 miles to the tank.
my ls1 had almost an 18 gallon tank and I got 30mpg.

boost it. You can build a cheap turbo kit for around $1000 and get it tuned by a reputable tuner and you could easily make 200+ hp on your stock z6. 200+hp in a light honda feels nice.
Just be smart about it. Have the engine checked out and make sure that it's mechanically sound (good compression, etc.) Do the research.. Learn what the motor is capable of handling. There are lots of knowledgeable peeps on here that have shared and will share their knowledge, utilize it. Find a reputable tuner for your car, and have them dyno tune it once you have everything installed and ready to go. This will help prolong the life of the car.
Just remember, performance will always come with a cost.

Just get a turbo kit (after plenty of research of course), and focus on suspension and handling. Unless you're really committed, don't bother trying to keep up with them in the horsepower department. Just go with what you've got.
The people that blow their engines with turbos remove their rev limiters, buy crap kits, and don't get a tune.
More than enough people have put 30k+ miles on tuned turbo setups. They can be plenty reliable.
Eclipses come with turbos, they can be driven 200k miles if taken care of.

Exactly....people that blow their **** up have no idea what they're doing and don't do it properly. Get a good kit, change the timing belt, buy gauges to keep an eye on things and get a good tune from a reputable tuner, and you will not have a problem driving it for many miles to come.
