Hey guys im new here so go easy on me with this one k. I just swapped a b16a2 into my 98. My check engine light is on and the guy who installed it said its because of my ecu. Right now im running the ecu from the b16 which is P2T and its obd2b and my car is obd2a. I was told to look for p30 or p72 ecu's. Just wondering what ecu would be the best option. I could convert my car to obd1 but when I go for my emmisions test I would fail on the spot. The motor came from a 99-00 sir. What if I converted my car to obd2b and just run the stock ecu, will that screw me in when I go to emmissions testing? Ive been lloking for days for a p30 cuz I know that one would work best but I was also told to look for a p72 which is from a gsr. Would the gsr ecu work fine too?

could be couple of things, crank sensor, or idle control valve...
Best bet...get OB1 shark converter and get a chipped ECU..

You can try an OBD2b to OBD2a conversion harness...
