That's a big file - there better be some nakedness in it.

At least she starts and doesn't leak!

Why not? Bike engines are not fragile little things... its just like a car engine, with a lot less rotating mass.

Do you start your car in the morning and rev the **** out of it? Or do you let it warm up to a normal opperating temperature so the internal parts in your engine reach the proper clerances and lubricate properly. This is just my personal oppinion, I'm not a mechanic

I commute on the bike every day... i rarely drive.
Regardless, I roll the bike out of the garage, start it, wait for the little oil light go off and start rolling. About 3 minutes later I'm accelerating (usually pretty hard) onto the highway
No problems here. Oil is always clean and it doesnt burn any.
Either way, starting it and reving it with no load isnt really harmful. Maybe if you did it every single day, for several years, you might have some sort of issue but I doubt it.

Its not going to hurt anything.
Your 4 mile daily commute is doing a lot more harm to the engine than starting it and revving it cold with no load on it.

Yeah... that's why the M3 has a redline that moves as the engine warms up.

You're kidding right?
If the car isnt moving its not under load. There is a HUGE difference.
