Default battery ground

i removed a 12gauge ground wire from my battery by accident, and now my radio and clock, and radar turn off when I hit the brakes. would the removed ground cause that or did something else just happen to go bad at the same time?

ps, when i let off the brakes they work again
thanks

is it the ground that runs from the valve cover to the frame? if so put it back. ive had them actually burn up for no reason. a guy that works at a local parts store use to be the shop manager and he told me to actually use a bigger wire there. go to like an 8 gauge wire if you have some.
