Honda would say that you need to replace the cylinder head, because the cam caps are line bored to the head...at least that was the response I got when I had a similar issue,

I had my machinist take a look at a cam cap from another head and check it for clearances...he said that it was in spec...and that it would probably work...

It's been on the motor and running with no problems for some time now if that helps you any

00 b16 head btw, in my case

i dont know what head that is, but that cam cap might also hold down the end of the camshaft.

also you will still need the camcap for the camgear seal, unless you like oil puking all over the place.

my brother had a simulair scenario with his DA. he got in a accedent and that broke, we got another cam cap from another motor, and it fits, and lines up, and no problems at all.

maybe its just our luck, I too have also heard that they were align bored with the head, but maybe honda did a good job in duplicating there results

Yup. The dizzy is held in/down by the 2 10mm bolts that thread into the head parallel to the cams. You need that last cap to hold the cam end down, and provide the necessary lube, thus ths oiling hole. You should be able to make one from another head work, but I'd hit the JY, and grab 2 or 3, then hand them to the machinist.

yep, and yep.
im not using a dizzy, i was thinking of just welding it, and making a little cap.....

i have a cover for running the head with no dizzy. got it all figured.

in general though, i cant believe that missing 1 bearing cap junks the head...., i mean its soft aluminum, youd think it would just deform if its off a few tenths
