I made this brace at work.
I am making a few more at the request of some friends.
This one was made out of 1" square steel tube, but I am making the others
out of 3/4" round steel tube.
The bar weighs approx. 2 pounds.
It is very strong, and you only need to drill one hole at the firewall.
It will fit any 2nd gen CRX, with just about any engine. My CRX has a B18C5 and it clears just fine.
I will sell them at $80 each. would anyone be interested?
Thanks

I am almost sure it fits the civic.
I'll test fit it on one.
About making it out of aaluminum, I don't think it's going to happen.
I cannot get extruded aluminum tubbing.
Personally, I like it out of steel better since it is stronger.
and you can paint it to match your engine bay.

just a few questions...... what other aftermarket strut bar can i also use?(neuspeed, sprint, tuscudo, skunk2, tenzoR, ect...) because i wouldn't mind useing both if i can get it all to if under the hood. It's really cool looking,....nice jod and is that $80 shipped?
For aluminum tubing, look at http://www.wicksaircraft.com. That's where I get most of my battlebots materials.
It looks nice, but I have a few thoughts/questions...
Does it bolt to the pinch weld or straight back to the firewall (i can't tell on my work monitor). I wouldn't think the pinchweld would be strong enough to make a difference unless it also butts up against the firewall too.
Also, if it does bolt to the firewall, doesn't that occasionally cause the windshield to crack? I've heard of that in mustangs from the front end flex causing the windshiled frame to get out of shape on hard corners.
Overall, it's sweet that you made it yourself. There's nothing better than making your own parts. You should make us all some of those braces that were posted on here a while back that go from your door hinge up to the front upper structure (where the fender hangs). Of course I can't find it on a search, but I'd email you a pic if you're interested. It goes under the fender.
