car stops at 4,000 rpm in 4th gear? is it the goverener.
my car goes fine until it hits the 3,000-4,000 rpm raneg then just stops gaining speed. is that it max rpm range (this is a stock engine) or is it the governer?
if its the governer how can i remove or override it?

Year, model, engine and transmission info would help you get a response. Although if you are trying to override your governor on the streets I hope nobody helps you.
o yeah my bad. its a 94 honda accord lx all stock engine. this is a car im working on and it was at the drag strip where i was noticing it, it just doesnt get over 4,000 rpm it trys but doesnt succeed..
the governor deals with your speed limiter, not rpms. unless you have a rev limiter set. but that requires an ecu upgrade in which i doubt you have. sounds like you have other issues.
or is it just my top speed? i have no speedometer on the car so i dont know how fast i was going. also its an automatic....sadly.
