H23 timing marks on flywheel
Hi all, I have a couple of question's. I have a t on my flywheel for top dead center. A little bit before that there is a white line going across the flywheel that seems to be a mark for what I have no Idea. When I check this mark 1 and 4 were on there up stroke but not at tdc. Plus there is a mark on flywheel for 15 degrees advanced. when setting the distributor with timing light my mark should hit right on that line to have distributor set right? Is it possible to set the timing 180 degrees out. My marks on my cam gears are lined up with the head and the crank is on tdc for #1 cylinder. I just want to make sure this is right because I dont want to buy new pistons again. Just checking any help would be appreciated.

With the cam gears and crank lined up as you describe, the cam timing is right. Ignition timing could be off by 180 if you mix up the wires from the distributor, but this shouldn't hurt your pistons. Turn it over slow by hand before hitting it with the starter.
