Default korean's guitar build

This thread was created to show the Honda-Tech community a guitar rebuild. This is a hobby that I wanted to share with all of you. It might bore you, it might entertain you... Comments, questions, criticism, hating, loving are all welcome!

--------------------------------------------------

I've been collecting and rebuilding guitars for about a year now. There are many guitars on Craigslist that need loving and care. Some guitars have had brutal pasts where the owners tore them apart and/or mistreated them. These owners tend to post up their unwanted guitars on Craigslist for extremely cheap. I pick them up and give them a good fixer-upper.

Here is an example of a build I finished about 4 months ago. I got this guitar for free off of Craigslist.

After a little polishing and 3m rubbing compound:

Shiny up the frets by taping the fretboard and using steel wool to wipe the gunk off.

Reinstall the hardware and put in the new DiMarzio PAF pickups and we're done!

Sold for $275
------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday I picked up a black guitar body for $20 and a blue guitar in horrible condition for $50.

The blue guitar after a mild clean up:

The guitar was in a fire. Really.

The lady who sold it to me was kind enough to give me everything else in a Ziploc bag.

Here is the $20 black body. I will be putting the neck from the blue guitar onto this body.

Here is the blue guitar, stripped:

I'll keep posting pictures as I gradually finish both guitars

Thanks!

These pickups are equivalent to a d16. They suck.

Just installed the bridge and tremolo block on the black body.

Also got the neck on! It's turning out to be pretty darn sexy!

lol!

This is always something I wanted to do with my Bass. Not that it's in bad condition or anything, but I think it needs a rebuild. Good stuff korean!

p.s. One of my greatest guitar memories was playing a 1950's original Telecaster.

It makes me sad to hear about instruments not being played! Pick that baby up and refresh those memories!

re: p.s. My 1959 American Stratocaster is coming in the mail as we speak!

Just soldered this mother sucker up:

remember that an A/C thread isn't complete without a slam or lip response.
