One time I wheelied past a cop with no helmet/license/insurance so I just ran, he couldn't catch me. Do that.

Isn't it like a $700 ticket?

I always had the same logic but figured I'd cough up the $130 for the piece of paper saying I'm insured. NH was sweet, you don't need anything if you are over 18. That and you can register just about anything for the street including xr50's.

If you don't have your papers, you get a ticket. Take the ticket to the court with your papers and you pay a $10 administrative fee.

you get a ticket, if the cop wants to be a dick he can impound it. if you go to court and have your valid papers they drop it with a $10 surcharge

but for some people it's like 4k+ a year so they opt not too since it's not worth it considering in NY motorcycle ins. doesnt cover YOUR medical bills...

If you ride every week, let alone every day, get at least liability insurance. If you are at fault in an accident and hurt someone or damage other people's property, you're going to pay for it either way. I'm surprised Marm hasn't chimed in yet...

Interesting. The common definition of a squid is an irresponsible rider. Not having insurance is considered being financially irresponsible... hmm..

Not directed personally at anyone, just food for thought.

Get insurance. Liability is fairly cheap (I pay $300/yr at Farmers; if I rode more, I'd get full coverage).

If some asshat took me out on a bike, be damn sure that I'm going to sue them for everything they have.

If you get pulled over and have no proof of insurance its one thing, but if you actually have no insurance be prepared to get raped by the courts. It is no laughing matter and for those of you that think running around without insurance is ok youre not too bright.

Yeah they are cracking down on people with no insurance they are starting to enforce strict and large finces. Stupid to ride without any. I have a lein holder full coverage I'm paying $77 a month you can afford that Think what would happen if someone hits you without insurance you will never be able to afford medical bills.

I got a ticket once for not having proof of insurance. It was around 350 I believe. Funny because thats exactly how much my insurance costs for a year. So you might as well have insurance rather than pay a heavy *** ticket.

you have to get insurance before dmv renews your registration as far as cali goes... which means i better start looking for a carrier

and if you ride without a license like my friend, he had to wait a month and pay $1425 to get it out of the tow yard.

My friend got his car towed which is another fee to get it back and out of the inpound. It was charged from friday-monday and yes weekends do count. He had to go to court which he also had 2 pay more fees. The process took hm nearly 2-3 weeks. It was a lot of hassle and i was driving him

His licensed could have been revoked

It's a $500 ticket here in Bama. And even if u have valid license but don't have it in your pocket u can get ticketed. If cop wants to be an a--hole he'll write u ticket for anything else he can get u for (tires, no light over tag).
