okay, i have a 99GSR sedan and i have no antenna. i'm assuming the antenna is in the rear glass or whatever (someone told me this, tell me if im wrong). but i saw an LS sedan the other day with an antenna in the same spot as a normal coupe (rear left).

so which sedans have antennas and which don't? just curious.

 

i think ur antenna has been shaved. I think all sedans have them like normal way

 

i heard that the newer sedans have it in the glass. I am just assuming, but probably 94 to 97 have antenna's, and 98 to 2001 have them in the rear glass.

 

98 + have no attenna. Its built into the glass. As a matter of fact it may even be 96+. because 96 was the first year honda built antenna's into the glass

I REALLY wish mine was like that. Stock antennae is really ugly.

 

that's correct. the orange wires in the top half of the rear window is for the radio antennae. in the area above the right rear seat of the bench there is a little bulge where the headliner meets the glass. that's where the antenna meets the antenna lead and goes all the way to your head unit.

Yes you can. Replace the entire rear windshield and shave your stock antenna

 

I doubt this is where the lead is. THere have to be bus bars for soldering on glass and these are always on the sides. It is likely an exstension of the defrost bus bar on one side. I have never check this but if I find a sedan with a glass antenna I will verify it. Easy to check just pop the panels.

 

No, the wiring isn't there. The Glass antenna lead looks like a defrost terminal. THe Normal antrenna plugs in like the connector on the back of a radio.

i double checked my helms manual and it does show the antenna lead going from that portion of the headliner down the right C-pillar to the floor and to the radio from there. i'll have to look a lil more carefully to see how the defroster connections are...

 

Does the manual show it on the side or top of the glass. It is very uncommon for solder locations to be anywhere other than the sides of the glass due to soldering being one of the more difficult processes on glass.

 

Buddy of mine has a 99 GSR with the antenna. He bought it brand new. Did you buy it new or used? I think that yours was removed at some point.

 

mine has no antenna 2001 sedan gsr

 

i no for sure that they stopped putting antennas on the four door around 96 or so
